Feelings Matter

psyche word in wood type

I just want to say NEVER trust anyone or anything that tells you to disregard your feelings. Scary advice. Stepford people. Robots. the herded masses. Nothing creative comes out of vacant people. The world is nothing without creativity. Bland. Vanilla. Not progressive. And I, for one, care about this world. This is the world I have. This is the world future generations of whatever is left of humanity will inherit. We’re supposed to love people, love one another, care about this here, this now. Caring is FEELING, folks.

I love my every feeling and thought. I’m alive. I’m not controlled by anyone or anything that tells me I’m less, I’m wrong, I’m bad. I may be born a sinner – though I feel there’s probably another translation and deeper interpretation for that puppy, too. But, if that’s true, I’m a good sinner. I’m a loving sinner. I’m a caring sinner. Not by acts but by faith. There’s more to that story, too. If faith is simple for people, people are missing the boat on what it is. It is ever changing. It doesn’t sit on its heels. It isn’t enclosed in an air-tight box of dogma or dictates. If people talk love, but don’t show it, bolt. If people show love, but don’t tack it to any particular source to the point of you want to throw up, stick around. Those are real people. They’re tied-in to the thing that makes life possible. You’ll find whatever you want to call the devil in the holiest of places. You’ll find God in the lowest, meanest, or most nondescript places. So glad to be using my brain again. God gave it to me to use, not to have it be used, absconded with and otherwise jerked-around by others.

And another thing! Everybody seems to be all concerned about being stressed… “letting go” of things, stuff, problems… No! We need to scratch and claw and hang on and make better stuff happen. The letting go is another control mechanism, folks. Be proactive. Be productive. Fight for what you believe in. Believe in things that make a positive impact on the world. Own who you are. Own what your gut tells you is right. In my teaching, I’ve seen many people who aren’t connected with their inner self. What we all need is introspection training. If you live your life being what others tell you to be, it’s not living your life. Angst is there. Embrace it. You need to do that to work through it and get past it. And this is important.

Psyche: soul, personality, the totality of elements forming the mind

When you have outside forces telling you that the angst you feel is not right, or when they tell you to let go of it, they are damaging your psyche. They are hurting you. If you disregard it, it festers. Nothing in your life will change. Sweeping it under the carpet, trying to ignore it, putting it on hold, masking it with something “else” you are “supposed” to feel, all set you up for some kind of mental or emotional explosion. Some would say that such an explosion is evidence of a higher power working on you. No! It’s evidence of negative outside forces working on you. It’s evidence you are being broken. Be all that you are, not anyone else’s version of who they think you should be. Think for yourself. Feel what you feel. Be real. Be you.
